We are in the early stages of a plan to take our growth to another level and, as part of this plan, we have an exciting opportunity for a Solution Consultant to join our Sales Team!

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Solutions Consultant (SC) is responsible for supporting Sales, Marketing and Product Management. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the sales of Binary Stream products including delivering effective demonstrations and training to partners and end users in the pre-sales phase of the sales cycle. SCs also act as a bridge between Partner VARs, End Users and internal BSSI Business Analysts. SCs are “Product / Solution facing” with a key objective to increase the opportunity win ratio and provide industry leading support and thought leadership across BSSI. Consequently SCs must continually strive to be experts across all BSSI emerging products and solutions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deploy a best in class solution support methodology (including the preparation of annual sales support plans and participation in quarterly reviews against plan).
  • Support the sales team with solution specific expertise and be proactive in satisfying all product questions and objections (particularly those associated with current opportunities and time critical, deadline based requirements and expectations).
  • Provide product marketing support (product messaging / case studies / reference program).
  • Provide meaningful content to update the company website and marketing collateral to include latest solutions and information related to assigned products.
  • Regularly take “pulse” of BSSI partner/end-customer ecosystem, capture emerging requirements and recommend product ideas for inclusion into development cycles (including new feature sets and enhancements).
  • Create and deliver demonstrations for assigned business solutions – both live and webinar delivered
  • Meet and exceed all sales metric targets including (1) overall group targets, (2) supporting AM in delivery of healthy, realistic and current pipelines and CRM, (3) support an expanded opportunity funnel.
  • Support new and existing clients in an efficient and confidential manner.
  • Maintain and promote ethical relations with clients and partners.
  • Maintain and keep safe the records, files, assets, and property of Binary Stream Software Inc., its customers, clients and partners.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, media releases, participate in sales meetings and formal documents including the preparation of marketing literature (i.e. compiling information on different software solutions in terms of features, benefits and functionality).
  • Manage Microsoft and VAR reseller channels and ISV relationships for assigned products; Participate in marketing campaigns and organize webinars as required.
  • Create and deliver demonstrations for assigned business solutions – both live and webinar delivered
  • Participate in select trade shows and partner visits.
  • Work with Account Manager and D&PS to drive communication and accountability across the value chain, to ensure that the end customer receives a fit-for-task solution as efficiently and painlessly as possible.
  • Manage and execute specific Sales and Marketing programs/projects authorized by management.
  • Adhere to the 3 pillar consultative sales approach – knowledge of accounting, knowledge of Great Plains, knowledge of our products – combined with a consultative sales support approach.
  • Input into BSSI internal sales systems roadmaps.
  • Required to travel as needed

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office products including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Superior written and oral English communication skills
  • Intermediate mathematical skills re: costing / estimating projects
  • Intermediate to advanced presentation skills with the ability to clearly demo BSSI products in front of customers.
  • Proficiency with technologies such as remote collaboration tools i.e. VPN, Goto meeting, webinars and adept to emerging technology tools
  • Certification in Microsoft Dynamics or other Microsoft technologies an asset

Education and Experience

  • A post-secondary degree in business and/or Information Technology or a college diploma in a similar field.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting and finance
  • Previous ERP platform experience is mandatory – MS Dynamics-GP or Finance and Operations preferred
  • Previous sales experience is an asset
  • Previous ERP consulting / training is preferred (mid-Tier / Tier 2 ERP an asset)
