Import Data

A company has purchased Subscription Billing and is setting up the ARED module. If the company used a previous program for their deferral schedules, they can import the templates for deferral schedules and all existing deferral schedules. However, if they are a new company, they must set up ARED as a new company.

The import file must be in .xml format. ClosedView example.

Importing Straight Line Templates for Deferral Schedules

To import the straight line templates for deferral schedules, follow these steps: 

Note: To import straight line templates, ensure that you have selected IT Manager as the role in your settings.

  1. Open the Deferral Templates list (ARED > Deferral Templates > Actions > Import Straight Line Templates)
  2. Tip: If you need a template, click the Export menu instead, and then save the file. By exporting the data, you can save the required file format with the specific headings you need, and then format your import file so that it has all the required headings and information.

  3. Click Process > Import Straight Line Template.
  4. When the Import dialog appears, click Choose.
  5. Navigate to the file you want to import and click Open.

Importing Existing Deferral Schedule Data

To import existing deferral schedules, follow these steps: 

Note: To import deferral schedule data. ensure that you have selected Accountant as the role in your settings.

  1. Open the Deferral Schedules list (ARED > Active Deferral Schedules > Actions > Import Deferral Schedule)
  2. Tip: If you need a template, click the Export menu instead, and then save the file. By exporting the data, you can save the required file format with the specific headings you need, and then format your import file so that it has all the required headings and information.

  3. When the Import dialog appears, click Choose.
  4. Navigate to the file you want to import and click Open.
