A new chapter in Business Central — Expanding with Vertical Leap.

August 13, 2025

How one acquisition deepened Binary Stream’s impact in the Dynamics ecosystem .

Spotting the gaps in a growing ecosystem.

When you’ve been in the Microsoft Dynamics ecosystem for as long as we have, you develop a keen sense for what’s missing. Whether it’s a tool that simplifies complex imports or one that streamlines shipping processes, it’s often the “small” gaps that create the biggest friction for users.

That’s why, when the opportunity arose to acquire Vertical Leap Inc.—the company behind Business Central Addins and Dynamics NAV Addons—we knew it wasn’t just a smart move. It was the right one.

A strategic fit, built on shared values.

Known for its suite of tools under the Business Central Addins and Dynamics NAV Addons brands, Vertical Leap had carved out a loyal following by solving common (but critical) challenges for users across shipping, importing, and inventory management. These were tools built by people who truly understood the day-to-day frustrations of ERP users. Tools that just worked. That philosophy matched ours perfectly. As Lak Chahal, our CEO, put it at the time:

“We wanted to find a suite of solutions that strategically aligned with our vision. It’s exciting to invest in products that elevate our ability to empower more customers than ever before.”

The acquisition, announced in October 2022, added over 30 years of collective experience to our team and expanded our Business Central footprint at a pivotal moment. As adoption of Dynamics 365 Business Central accelerated globally, we were now in a stronger position than ever to meet the demand with fully embedded, tightly integrated solutions.

Supporting Microsoft’s vision for growth.

But this wasn’t just about product lines or expanding market share. It was about deepening our support for the Dynamics community. Every tool we added through this acquisition was designed to save users time, reduce manual work, and plug the feature gaps that slow teams down.

We also saw this as a way to better support Microsoft’s broader vision. With the Dynamics ecosystem evolving rapidly, system integrators and partners needed ISVs that could step up, scale fast, and deliver smart, integrated solutions. This acquisition helped us do just that.

Mike Anderson, CEO of Vertical Leap, summed it up well:

“This is the next logical step in an exciting journey for our products. Binary Stream can accelerate the adoption of these add-ons, allowing them to empower more customers than ever.”

A milestone and a launchpad.

Today, the utilities are fully integrated into our offering and continue to evolve. More importantly, they’ve helped us reach a broader audience, solve more real-world problems, and deliver on our promise of making business easier, one integration at a time. They’ve already made a big impact for Business Central users, and they’ve helped us build even stronger partnerships across the Microsoft ecosystem.

Looking back, this milestone marks more than just a chapter in our growth. It’s a signal of what’s to come. As we expand our product lines and deepen our reach, we remain committed to one thing: building solutions that make business easier, one integration at a time.
